Ruth Flanigan has always loved to read and draw. Through her childhood and teen years, she and her dad would often go out sketching for the afternoon, searching for the perfect landscape or farmhouse to draw. When her parents brought the family to the Rhode Island School of Design Museum, she noticed the RISD students with their paint boxes and pads, and decided her future path. Much later, she graduated from RISD and became an illustrator of children's literature, educational materials, and magazines. She continues to enjoy her job making pictures, and lives in Massachusetts with her husband, daughter, and kitty cat.
